CHERRY BLOSSOMS is a 16x22 inch hand painted batik art on a cotton fabric made with using wax and batik color dyes. I started this painting by sketching cherry blossoms tree with a bird sitting on a branch and cherry blossoms blooming in the beginning of spring season. The inspiration I got for this batik piece was from a tiny greeting card we received in 1979, while I was living in Zambia, Africa with my family.

It took me two weeks to complete this painting depending on the number of color dyes used in the artwork. I used 4 colors; brown, red, yellow in the tree, bird and flowers beige color in the background.

The batik art piece is heat set for color permanence and vibrancy. Every batik art piece at NSFA is unique and true piece of collectible art and is perfect for someone who is a collector as well as makes a perfect gift. I framed the CHERRY BLOSSOMS in a black wood floater frame which makes it look elegant with a wire attached to the back to hang, and is ready to decorate any room at home or business space.
